Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.
Our Mission
PsychWorks Associates was established to promote psychological wellbeing at every level for people living and working with Personal Injury. To foster a sense of belonging and safety, like the string of a kite provides.
Our service’s mission is to underpin case management with psychological principles, and infuse psychological treatment with a sound awareness of the medico-legal setting, in order to help optimise professional support and outcomes for clients. This becomes a grounding experience for our clients, just like a kite needs an anchor to fly well.
PsychWorks Associates has a vision of embedding rehabilitation processes and practices firmly in the human experience at every level of client care and optimising outcomes for all including disadvantaged groups, such as people of colour. We all deserve to fly high.
The PsychWorks team came to the rescue when I was struggling to find an experienced child psychologist who was willing to work between two locations (home in Greater London and boarding school in the home counties). I was impressed with the efficiency of contact and the service delivery. Admin were helpful, offering therapist options and swift, polite, liaison. The psychologist engaged was flexible and professional. Her approach appeared caring and competent as she provided empathy and detail in line with the circumstances. I would not hesitate to refer to PsychWorks Associates again.

Compassion
In order to promote progress, outcomes and true potential, we recognise that our clients need a solid system around them. So, we asked ourselves, what is it that people need when presented with the toughest of challenges?
Compassion came to mind.
It is core to human life, as is kindness. Without these qualities, we cannot build connections with ourselves, others or community. In the injury world, rehabilitation is usually a team effort – compassion makes the effort more enjoyable.
Respect
To show regard for someone is to show them respect. We believe that the hidden message in respect is ‘value’. Everyone has value and worth, and therefore everyone is respected. This is highlighted in our unique model that seeks a range of perspectives to understand how best to support our clients, their families as well as the professional network. Therefore, we encourage respect of others and self-respect in our Associates so we can interact with fewer barriers.
Equity
We enjoy working with the breadth and depth diverse experiences bring to our thinking, our understanding and our practice. However, we want to ensure that all our clients, families and professionals colleagues are invited to join from the same starting point and that they are not disadvantaged by “otherness”. This takes an open mind, honesty, checking in on our biases and courage to advocate. Our practitioners – some with lived experiences of inequitable practices – are committed to promoting equitable rehabilitation outcomes.
Acceptance
Psychologically-speaking, when something difficult is being experienced, acceptance of the discomfort and circumstances is the end goal rather than the beginning. Once acceptance is met, rehabilitation, problem-solving, resilience follow.
Our Associates work with acceptance closely in mind and aim to support our clients and their families along this pathway.
Wonderful things can happen in terms of outcome potential when that space to flow rather than resist is made available.
Trust
When experiencing challenging times, you want to know that you are in reliable and safe hands. That trust needs to be there to minimise barriers, and this is why ‘trust’ is one of our values.
Through respectful listening, effective communication, coordinated and evidence-based approaches, we aim to earn the trust of our clients, their families and the professionals working together around the client.
We want you to feel that we are a service that you can put your faith in to uphold an excellent standard of input.
Environment
To us, we believe that whatever we do as humans, we need to be aware of the impact we have on everything around us. This includes the planet and our contribution to the problems we are facing globally. We want to do our bit.
Under Director Gabriel’s guidance as an ex-sustainability consultant, we are aiming to become a carbon-neutral company by 2025.
